Diving with Mad Shark

Wied Iz-Zurrieq (Malta)

This is also a very popular place to dive. Even it is not a quiet and in the starting little bay the divers have to share the space with little excursion boats to blue grotto, it is well worth the effort.
Due to the overall depth it is more a dive for advanced divers it also offers a couple of dives for the not so experienced diver. The depth at the entrance point is straight away 12 meters and the rocky bottom slopes down to 32 meters very quick. The dive to the left leads along a wall where you often find a moray eel sticking his head out of a hole. The shallow plateau above offers some open swim through´s and next to wrasse, combers and salema, octopus is also commonly seen. To the right the wall vanishes very quickly and it changes to a soft slope covered in posedonia grass. Just at the change you find quite a big cave, which got the inner shape of a bell. Even the entrance is a little small, it is still a good cave to go in to since it is always light in there caused by some cracks in the wall. The bay itself offers lots of scorpion fish, hermit crabs, and sometimes even a john dory. The experienced diver will also find the wreck of a tanker just of the bay.
